Configure workflows
Runner labels
Choose Standard or Basic explicitly, with the size and image your workflow needs.
Choose a family explicitly
| Label | Selection |
|---|---|
sprintbox | Default alias for the 2 vCPU Standard runner on Ubuntu 24.04 |
sprintbox-standard-2 | Explicit 2 vCPU Standard runner on Ubuntu 24.04 |
sprintbox-basic-2 | Explicit 2 vCPU Basic runner on Ubuntu 24.04 |
Standard is the recommended default. Basic is the lower-cost option. Use the explicit sprintbox-standard-2 label when you want the workflow to document your choice. Use sprintbox-basic-2 when you want Basic.
Sprintbox does not substitute another family when the requested family is busy. Requests may wait for capacity or fail to provision within the service's startup window. Change the workflow label if you want a different family.
Sizes and images
The label catalog defines Standard sizes of 2, 4, 8, 16, and 30 vCPUs, and Basic sizes of 2, 4, 8, 16, 30, and 60 vCPUs. Catalog entries are not a guarantee that every size is enabled in the hosted service. Ask Sprintbox to confirm the profile you need before using it.
For an enabled profile, replace the final size with the required vCPU count:
runs-on: sprintbox-standard-8
Labels without an OS suffix currently select Ubuntu 24.04. Explicit Ubuntu image variants follow this form:
runs-on: sprintbox-standard-2-ubuntu-2404
The catalog also contains Ubuntu 22.04 and 26.04 variants and Basic Arm profiles. These require their own enabled configuration; do not assume they are available because the corresponding x64 or Ubuntu 24.04 label works. Standard Arm, macOS, Windows, and GPU profiles are not part of this documented offer.
Use a single Sprintbox label in runs-on. Adding arbitrary extra labels can leave a job waiting for a runner that matches all of them.
Runner label format
Use sprintbox-standard-N for Standard or sprintbox-basic-N for Basic. Replace N with the vCPU count you need. For example, sprintbox-standard-8 selects a Standard runner with 8 vCPUs.
The bare sprintbox alias selects Standard with 2 vCPUs. Use an explicit label to make your workflow's family and size clear. Runner family is selected in the workflow; there is no account-wide setting that changes your selected family.
